FIND and FIX subject-specific word gaps
” The Chatty Toolbox – Subjects package has made me aware of what is expected so that I can support my children at home. School let us know which subject/topics are coming up and I can support this by pre-teaching the vocabulary using the teaching framework and fun activities to engage my children. Would highly recommend.”
Parent of two children aged 5 and 10 years, Widnes
What’s in each module?
Chatty Science
Core topics:
“The children love using the software as it is fun, colourful and entertaining and we have seen significant progress for those children using the platform across the school. Their confidence levels have increased which has then had an impact on other areas of the curriculum and school life in general.”
Elaine Darwin, Headteacher, Irlam Primary, Salford
Chatty Geography
Core topics:
“Using the software has been very successful. The children respond positively to both the variety within the module and the repetition which builds rapid progress along with confidence. We also use the software as a pre-teaching tool to support children who have a low or limited vocabulary. We have found the resources effective tools to use, simple to implement and useful to use for assessment purposes.
Louisa Aldridge, Headteacher, Astmoor Primary, Runcorn
Chatty History
Core topics:
“I enjoyed the “Chatty Subjects” module – especially World War 2. We don’t learn this until Year 6 at my school but it’s given me a big head start. I liked that it gave me explanations for topic words that I didn’t already know. The games are fun, including the word searches – it’s a good way of checking what I have learnt.”
Samuel, aged 10 years, Widnes
